Understanding NC Life, Health & Medicare Supplement Licenses
The Life and Health licenses are typically taught together, though it's not uncommon for students to take just one course without the other. Each license name describes the products the agent will sell.
After earning the Health license, many candidates go on to pursue the Medicare Supplement & Long-Term Care (MS/LTC) license. The Health license is a prerequisite for MS/LTC—it must be obtained before the MS/LTC license can be issued.
Life and Health licenses carry a minimum 20-hour study recommendation, while MS/LTC carries a minimum 10-hour recommendation.
