North Carolina law dictates a minimum of 20 hours of education from an approved prelicensing educational provider
prior to an agent candidate being permitted to sit for the Life, Accident & Health, Property, Casualty, and Personal Lines insurance licenses. A minimum of 10 hours of education is required
prior to sitting for the Medicare Supplement & Long Term Care licensing examination. Adjusters do not have an hourly commitment; however, they should plan to attend the class all week for a
total of 40 hours.
To comply with this regulation, attendance of all class sessions is mandatory. Late arrival to class or early departure from class may prevent Insurance Educational Systems from certifying completion of the educational requirement. In addition, agent candidates must pass a mandated course final exam administered at the end of class.
